Review the songs
After the children have learned a new song, it
is important for them to sing it frequently to implant it firmly in their
memories. Sometimes use the song they
have already learned as the opening, closing or reverent song.
1.
Show pictures or visual aids you used to teach the song and ask
the children what song the pictures remind them of
2.
Allow the children to choose their favorite Primary Songs
3.
Play “Name That Tune”
4.
Use a riddle to encourage the
children to guess which song you are
thinking of
5.
Add variety to the song by having
different groups sing the verses or phrases.
6.
Try
adding parts or an
instrumental parts to the song
7.
Plan
a “choose and review” time
activity.
Whatever methods you use, frequently provide the
children an enjoyable experience in reviewing the songs so that their musical
repertoire is constantly growing.
